What began as a pipe dream became a national design destination.

When sisters and business partners Niki Serras and Alisha Serras first envisioned owning a kitchen and bath design studio, Scavolini Detroit was little more than a bold idea. But in September 2010, in the midst of a difficult economic downturn, they opened their doors with unwavering faith, a clear vision, and an uncompromising commitment to design excellence.

Nearly 15 years later, that single store has evolved into a nationally recognized design firm with four flagship locations: Detroit, Chicago, Boston, and Fort Lauderdale. Each Scavolini store is uniquely curated to reflect the cultural identity and aesthetic of its city, yet all remain true to the Italian design heritage that defines the brand.

The studio offers full-service kitchen, bath, and living space solutions—from initial concept to final installation. Their team of 12 highly experienced designers and 10 skilled installers collaborates closely with clients, builders, and architects to deliver turnkey solutions tailored to each individual project. Whether it's a full home remodel, new construction, or a custom renovation, Scavolini Design Collective specializes in creating elegant, functional spaces through a seamless and highly personalized process.

Every project is bespoke. Designs are thoughtfully crafted to suit each client’s lifestyle, taste, and architecture. From high-performance cabinetry and integrated appliances to premium finishes and cutting-edge storage solutions, Scavolini offers precision Italian craftsmanship fused with American sensibility.

The team is often sought out for complex remodels and high-end residential projects across the United States. Their end-to-end capabilities include space planning, material selection, project management, and coordination with trades, ensuring both beauty and build quality from the inside out.

To stay ahead of industry trends and continue evolving their vision, Niki and Alisha regularly travel to Italy and abroad, drawing inspiration from the latest innovations in architecture, design, and technology.

Today, what began as a leap of faith has grown into a legacy of design excellence—one home, one client, and one custom solution at a time.

meet ALISHA & NIKI

Niki and Alisha Serras are the Founders and Owners behind Scavolini Store locations in Boston, Chicago, and Detroit. Over the past 15 years, the Serras sisters have built a reputation for delivering high-end Italian design through Scavolini’s modern kitchen, bath, and living solutions. Their journey began in 2008, when Alisha discovered the Scavolini brand and introduced it to Niki. Inspired by the opportunity, Niki left her job at the University of Michigan, and the two joined forces to launch what has become a thriving design business.

Their first showroom, Scavolini Store Detroit, opened in 2010. Thanks to its early success, they were awarded the opportunity to bring the brand to Chicago, launching their second showroom in the iconic Merchandise Mart in 2013—America’s premier destination for luxury home furnishings.

In 2016, they expanded once again, opening a third showroom in the Boston Design Center, the top hub for interior design in New England.

Now, the sisters are preparing to open their fourth and most ambitious showroom yet: a 5,420 sq. ft. flagship location at the Design Centers of the Americas in Fort Lauderdale, slated to open in Fall 2024. Through each venture, Niki and Alisha continue to bring their shared vision and passion for modern Italian design to life across the country.
